A media wall that absorbs the room
Every living room has to make peace with the television. Our client asked for a media wall that would bring the screen, the storage and the room together — so we designed, crafted and installed one piece that holds them all.

The brief
A long living-room wall is a challenge in its own right. Left open it feels empty; filled edge to edge with doors it becomes a corridor of cupboards. Our client asked for balance — generous storage and a proper home for the television, without letting either dominate the room.
Our approach
- Frame the wallTall columns at each end give the long run a beginning and an end, turning storage into a composition.
- Layer the texturesA vertical slatted panel behind the screen brings warmth, texture and shadow — a considered setting rather than a blank wall.
- Float the cabinetryThe base cabinet sits clear of the floor, keeping the room feeling open and the piece feeling light.
The installation
The joinery was installed in a single day by our own team. The carcasses were set out and levelled as one continuous run, services were concealed behind the panel, and the slatted feature was fitted last — it is the finishing surface, so it goes up once everything structural is complete.

Our advice for a wall like this
A television will always draw the eye — the answer is to give it a setting worth looking at. One strong texture, a framed composition and floating cabinetry let the screen settle into the room rather than dominate it.
